Venue: Dinamo Stadium, Minsk » Kick-off: 1930 BST

Belarus and England flags

With skipper John Terry still injured, left-back Ashley Cole ruled out with a hamstring and goalkeeper Robert Green also out because of a knee injury, coach Fabio Capello will need to consider his options carefully when deciding the line-up for England’s World Cup qualifier against Belarus in Minsk.

Under-21 squad goalkeeper Joe Hart and central defender David Wheater have been called up by Capello as reinforcements, flying straight to Minsk along with Under-21s coach Stuart Pearce after their 5-4 aggregate win against Wales last night. They’ll join up with the senior squad for a training session today (Wednesday).

Catch all the action live! – at the Monks Head in Larkfield.

Monks Head People’s Darts 2008 Winner

“All Your Base Are Belong To Tim”

Ian Davies and Tim Allchin
Monk’s Head People’s Darts winner Tim Allchin, right, with runner-up Ian Davies

Monk’s Head arrowsmith Tim Allchin emerged victorious in the final shoot-out of our local People’s Darts 2008 qualifiers, with a ruthlessly efficient performance against fellow regular and all-round good guy Ian Davies on Friday 10th October.

Following advice from Ian’s lawyers, we can’t publish the final score due to the Data Protection Act or something, but we’re sure it’ll leak out eventually (probably in a comment to this post).

Spread over two consecutive Friday evenings, our local knockout event was a great success and we’d like to thank all who participated.

Tim will now be put forward as the Monks Head candidate for the South of England Regional Finals, to be played by the end of November.

When we get more news, we’ll post it right here on the Monks Head blog.
